I have seen many departments having their officers wear their vests outside the uniform as they do in some other countries. They seem to be nice. What are you guys thoughts on them?

Our department recently accepted the use of outer vests. As long as they are similar to the navy blue uniform we wear the command staff has no issues with them. I really enjoy my vest, although it still gets somewhat warm in the summer at least I can take it off when I am going into the station for sometime. I believe every department should implement an outer vest.
